2004, 808 owner Chuck Mitsui was deep into the filming of a commentary based shop video where he wanted to really give a feel for the team riders culture, attitude, and living environment in and outside of skateboarding. So he took Mako Ozaki, a Japanese skateboarder who grew up in Hawaii, but had a deep love and understanding for his Japanese heritage and fellow team rider, Sean Reilly, aka Bedpan, the then bottle popping, bed peeing, drunken Tom Penny wannabe, to Japan for a week long filming mission in Tokyo and Yokohama! They met up with fellow Hawaiian skate legend Larry Warnken, aka the Skate Nazi, and dove right into the epic street spots of Japan. This is Part 1 of the tape from the trip! Enjoy the wacky and confusing beating the boys took and gave to Japan! Sugoi!
In 2004 Chuck, Mako, and Bedpan took a trip to Japan filming for the video It's 808. Here is a teaser of the combined collection of dv tapes we are calling Tape 03. As you can see a lot of madness went down in the short period of time they were there! Check back next week for a full raw bedpan re edit of the tapes! In Da Cutty Tapes: [Tape03]
ShittyKids youngest ripper Cyprus Blanco hops on a plane with Bedpan to checkout the valley isles skate scene, catch the ASH contest at Lahaina park, rage with 808 Skate crew, watch fellow rider Dusty Owens take the contest, and see the shittiest kid MIkey Albert nearly lose his head at the Lahaina harbor gap!
Theeve Trucks puts on Kaneohe's own Jason Park with his very own pro set. Check out this awesome video in parks classic humorous flavor, filmed and edited by long time talent and friend Jordan Kim. If you are a fan of Jason, like we are, you can get the trucks here.
Kevin Oshea is probably 808 Skates most illusive rider! Rarely seen out skating but rest assured he prolly skates everyday, here is some footy we were recently able to compile of him ripping up the streets of Oahu! If anyone out there has more Kevin footy you were able to sniper please send it to the shops email, Thank you and enjoy!

What an amazing year 2016 has been for skateboarding in Hawaii! The ASH contest series wrapped up at Keolu on the 24th of September and so many skaters came out from all over Oahu and even the neighbor islands! There were a ton of heavy slams, but no bad injuries, and after a good showing of huge airs and tech gnar tricks we crowned the winners of the Keolu Invitational and the overall ASH contest victors! If you wish to see the standings for the year go to http://skatehawaii.org ! Thanks to all who skated and came out to support! See you next year, which island will the ASH contest series branch out to next?
