New spots been popping up on Oahu and 808 Skate team riders and friends have been getting in the streets! At night the rec center park and Aala always go off, and a little road trip out to the Wahiawa park turns out to be action braddah! Stay tuned for Episode 18 by summertime! Thank you to Ryan Scragadilla for the filming contribution. Get out there and skate!
Lots of heavy slams for this Eight08Lately Ep. 17, but be sure to check out the lands in the full edit soon! From downtown Honolulu night skating, Mango bowl sessions, Waipahu to Kailua rec center skatepark, this episode shows you whatsup with skating on Oahu in 2017!
Bedpan flew the coop and went over to Kauai with Leif Kennedy and Cyprus Blanco, the young bucks of the SK crew! It was 2 days of just getting lost on da eastside of the island and what we found was Kauai has a lot of cool lil gems to skate, beaches are epic, and there are chickens everywhere! Thanks to Cameron and Kofe man for showing us around, Elephit for the ramp sesh, and Dan and Tadashi from Oasis for throwing some wild into the trip. Smell ya next time!
The WKND team sailed over to Oahu for the weekend and threw a nice little bbq/skate jam at the Kaneohe skatepark along with the 808 Skate crew! Burgers were demolished, hips blasted frontside and backsided, the kicker saw some NBD's! Aloha to WKND for throwing down with da locals!
Aala Park was painted gold, green, orange, and white last Friday! Skaters were decked out in Leprechaun attire, and flinging themselves over the 'Pot of gold" layed perfectly centered on the Irish Flag atop the bank to bank! Winner takes the Pot! Almost 130 dollars in loot plus change and maybe a Ketchup packet or two. Aarron Honaker came swinging strong, landing everything but definitely taking it with the in under 3 tries big heel! That boy must be Irish! Make sure to all make down again next year! More prizes, drinks, shennanigans, and maybe even some sheleighleighs!
Kevin Oshea 808s mysterious quickfooted boy wonder spent a month in California hopping on benches and down stairs then teleported back to the 808 Skate mother ship in Kailua. Here are the clips he phoned home via text. filmed by Trevor Mirata
On a rainy Saturday Proper Rideshop was nice enough to invite Bedpan and crew to skate their new indoor facility! The older skaters were flying head first into the soft pit like they were 10 again, while Cyprus Blanco and Heimana Reynolds were properly destroying the street course! Its safe to say that with this new spot the next generation of Hawaii skateboarders have an amazing training facility in the industrial zone of Honolulu! Thanks to the Reynolds Ohana for the invite, Steven Stinson and Justine Albert for filming, and the mix of skaters who came out and put it down!
When it comes to skateboard tricks Jason Park is the master of the tech, goofiest of the goofballs, as dorky as a dork can be with utter consistency! Easy for one to ask, "How does he do it?" In the first episode we catch JP at the Kailua rec center, where he picks a trick from his bag of em, then grabs a skateboarder from park at random , who can prove they've never done the trick at hand, then Jason deals them a quick tutorial on how exactly to execute it! With their lesson from Master Park the timer is set for one hour and if the skater can do it in that much time a miracle has happened and they skate home with a new shop board from 808 Skate! DM @808skate on instagram for a chance to be in the next episode, miraculously learn a new trick, and win a board! Just a warning the tricks are going to get harder and harder! Like kickflip blunt treflip out harder!
2008 Bedpan is turning pro for Natural Koncepts and falling hard off walls around Honolulu. Bottle usually in hand and a posse of heavy rippers alongside! Chit gets real cutty in this... look for pre mainland move Shmatty, Action Jackson, and Hamaguchi footie. Colonel before his descent to who knows where and Larry when he was known as the Skate Nazi! Enjoy
Continue driving down the road with Sean Payne and Bedpan as they explore Canyon Country spots at night, hit LA streets with Princess Loko, meet up with Adrian Adrid at LA, then Frogtown to see Jordy Clot and the rest of the Hawaiians up in Los Angeles making it happen with JNCO. A bonus tid bit of Danny Hamaguchi and crew dorking around at Simi Valley park.. hawaii skateboarding rules the world!
